H-E-B issued an invitation to Texans Wednesday, to compete in a weight-loss challenge with the chance at winning cash prizes.
The San Antonio-based grocer said the “Slim Down Challenge” is a first for the company and Texas, calling it a “life-changing journey toward a healthy body and a new outlook on life”.
Contestants will participate in a three-day wellness program and receive weekly coaching and support in developing meal plans and fitness goals.
Any state resident can enter the challenge, but only 25 applicants will be selected to compete for a $10,000 grand prize and a $5,000 “fan favorite” prize in the 16-week contest.
Applications are due Wednesday, Feb. 29, and can be found at H-E-B.com.
Contestants will be announced in May; the contest will begin June 15.
Winners of the weight-loss competition will be announced in October at a Family Expo Fun Run hosted by the grocer in San Antonio.
